“It was an evil ranch from the beginning - a ranch that was born bad.”

Welcome to the Dead Reign Ranch!

Sunset at the DR Ranch

YEE HAW!

Dead Reign RPG coverHowdy y'all, and welcome to the Dead Reign Ranch!

Just a country road down the way from the House, the Host commissioned the addition of the Ranch on the vast grounds of the House of BTS to offer fans of the Dead Reign RPG a place to hole up, catch their breath, and reload while hiding from the unbelievable number of zombies shambling about.

Here, down at the DR Ranch, we've got some tasty viddles for the fans to enjoy, including pregenerated player characters, NPC's, adventures and submitted fan content. So grab your rope and saddle, partner... cause I'm taking you to the undead rodeo!

Pregenerated Player Characters

Up first is the Farmhouse, where the Host houses his pregenerated player characters for his introduction / demo adventures. So pull up a hay bale, take your boots off, sit a spell, and get to know this posse of zombie slayers!

The more observant cowpokes will notice that most of the “character” features are empty. Well, that was intentional as I like to encourage the players to come up with their own description of these characters as they play. That's also why I using either gender neutral names, nicknames or handles to go by.

Non-Player Characters

Over yonder is the Old Barn. This is where I keep my NPC's available as hired hands for the GM's who need NPC's to accompany the pregens and/or player character during the adventure/campaign. Note that some of these hired hands aren't always available to the players, nor to the GM's until they've run a particular adventure below.

Stan “The Stump” Stumpe - Reaper

Christina Hess - Shepherd of the Damned (available as an NPC or player character after playing We Heard a Baby Crying below)

Note: These NPC's are finished as of yet, but will be added once they are.

Angelina Rios - Grounds keeper and “The First Arborist”

Corporal Brent Higgins - National Guard Soldier and only remaining survivor of his unit

Jamal Ames - Premed Student

Georgia Ames - Veterinary Technician

Dead Reign Adventures

Out here in the Chicken Coop, we have our hens working day and night on delicious and nutritiously good Dead Reign adventures. Are you too chicken to play these adventures?

The Arbor Stories: We Heard A Baby Crying: This adventure is a revision of the very first Dead Reign adventure I ran at a local gamer convention years ago:

It had been four months since “The Wave”. At that time, we were still coming to terms with harsh realities… no government, no military, civilization is gone, and the dead reign.

Our community of Arbor was new and on wobbly legs. We were a small group living inside the log walls of Camp Lied, struggling and still unsure how to survive in this new world. This is the story of the time when a Road Reaper named Stan “The Stump” came to Camp Lied with news of the outside world and to teach us about the Zombies, particularly how to kill them. When our group had gone out to get some training in with Stan, we heard a baby crying…

The Arbor Stories: Medical Emergency: This adventure was written specifically for an online Discord/Zoom adventure for the 2021 Nuke-Con Gaming Convention...

Corporal Higgins here. It’s been almost 5 months since the Wave. Arbor had survived many hardships already, and our medical supplies were nearly gone. I assembled a scavenging crew to find supplies as illnesses and injuries threatened to overwhelm us. This is the story of our first medical emergency, and what we found that day.

Tools and Weapons

Mind the sharp tools in here... because this is the Tool Shed. This is where the various tools and weapons not listed in the core book can be found.

Pipe Wrench

pipe wrench imageWeight: 6 lbs.
Damage: 2D6 (might break if more than 60 points of damage are done in a single hit)
Description
: A wrench used to turn threaded pipe and pipe fittings.
Thoughts: One of my favorite tools.
While not exactly designed for zombie-killing, it sounds really good when it strikes a zombie skull. Its also incredibly durable; it will likely outlive us all.
- Pony

Duckbill Deck Wrecker

deck wrecker imageWeight: 3 lbs.
Damage: 1D8 (might break if more than 40 points of damage are done in a single hit)
Description
: Deck destroying pry bar with a specialized pry head.
Thoughts: Another one of my favorite tools of the trade. Itā€™s a specialized deck teardown tool that also does an admirable job of prying open doors, opening crates, and ripping apart zombies. - Pony

Barbed Wire Bat

deck wrecker imageWeight: 3 lbs.
Damage
: 1D12; barbed wiring adds an extra +2 damage (might break if more than 26 points of damage are done in a single hit).
Description
: A wooden baseball ball with barber wiring wrapped around it and secured.

Note: Keep an eye out for this section as more tools and weaponry will be stocked in the shed soon!
